Why is it that if you’re over 80, it’s increasingly difficult to find any company that will provide you with travel insurance?

Well, most travel insurance policies are designed for younger people who have no medical conditions that need to be covered. That’s because the older we get, the more chance there is that we will make a claim on a travel insurance policy and that the claims are higher if we do.

Even if you have something that’s well controlled, like blood pressure, that’s still counted as a medical condition. It’s very important that you declare it when obtaining a quotation.
